Growing Together: Community Nursery Network Workshop Recap

Activity From The Fire Wise Nature Project

As part of our Fire Wise project, we recently held a fantastic Community Nurseries Network Workshop hosted at the Clayton Bay Nursery.

It was wonderful to welcome some new community nursery managers from around the region to the network, and share insights and experiences to boost knowledge and capacity.

The day was packed with valuable topics, including propagating challenging species, best practices for seed collection, storage and viability testing, and enhancing genetic diversity for revegetation projects.

Learn more about Fire Wise…

A special thanks to Jenny and Brad from the Seed Conservation Centre for the insightful presentation on using chemicals to break seed dormancy and improve germination. The topic sparked a lot of questions and great discussion!

Thank you to all who attended. It was great that everyone is keen to get together regularly, we look forward to facilitating regular meetings to support ongoing knowledge sharing and networking.
