Mount Barker Wildlife Gardening 2024... It’s a wrap!

Activity From The Mount Barker Wildlife Gardening Nature Project

We recently held the Wildlife Gardening plant pack collection event at Mount Barker Community Nursery, giving Mount Barker locals the opportunity to visit the nursery for the first time!

What an incredible Saturday we had last weekend at the Mount Barker Community Nursery! We welcomed nearly 200 families to pick up their native plant packs as part of Mount Barker Wildlife Gardening initiative.

A huge THANK YOU to all who purchased a native plant pack – our local birds, wildlife, and insects thank you too!

Local native plants batched ready for their new homes…

Now in its eighth year, this fantastic program provides subsidised packs of 20 local native plants to the Mount Barker District Council community, encouraging beautiful and biodiversity-friendly home gardens. Special shoutout to Sam, the Second Nature Nursery Manager, and our amazing volunteers who propagated, raised, and distributed these plants. This year, our volunteers had the chance to chat with everyone picking up their packs, making it even more special!

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped out on the day, it made the morning that little bit more special.

Packs are all sold out...If you missed out, don’t worry! Sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media for next year’s announcements.

The Mount Barker Community Nursery is open for general retail sales every Thursday from 9:30am to 2:30pm at the Laratinga Environmental Precinct, 100 Springs Road, Mount Barker. Come visit us!
