Volunteering For Nature
Volunteering With
Second Nature Conservancy
Volunteering your time to help Second Nature is a great way to make connections, learn new skills, contribute to your community and to care for the environment.
Whether it’s a once-off planting event, getting involved at our Natural Resource Centre, or learning to propagate native plant species at one of our community nurseries, we express our gratitude to all volunteers who give their time back to the environment.
Volunteering Within Your Community
Participating in an environmentally-oriented community organisation offers a truly fulfilling opportunity, and our region boasts several vibrant, inclusive groups that eagerly welcome new members. Explore the volunteer community groups currently making a difference in our area and reach out to them for involvement!
Second Nature can also assist other environmental, land care or farming community groups in our area, with things like; connecting with other groups for knowledge sharing, promoting their events and growing plants for revegetation projects. Meeting space is available in our Natural Resource Centre located at 6 Catherine Street, Strathalbyn, for groups to use without charge.
If your local community environmental group is interested in collaborating with Second Nature Conservancy, we’d love to hear from them!
Second Nature
Community Nurseries
Join us on a fulfilling journey as a volunteer nursery assistant at our community nurseries, where you'll learn the art of propagating native seedlings and enhance your local plant identification abilities. Join a vibrant community of like-minded individuals dedicated to giving back to nature and making a tangible difference. We extend our gratitude to all volunteers, past and present, for their invaluable time, commitment, and passion.
If you’d like to join us at Mount Barker on Thursdays and at Alexandrina on Fridays, apply to be a nursery volunteer today!
