A Nature Interactive Walk & Talk From The Nature Eduction Project


Did you know, that bats are the only mammal capable of active flight and that they are, after the rodents, the most successful mammal group with over 1000 species world-wide?

Come and join us at Strathalbyn Natural Resource Centre to discover more about these nocturnal animals and learn why they are so important to our ecology.


There will be a limited number of flat pack, bat boxes available for purchase from FauNature at the subsidised price of $50 per box - you can order one when you order your tickets. Learn more about FauNature’s, bat boxes.

Event Details…

Join husband and wife team, Drs Monika and Martin Rhodes, for a night full of discoveries and stories. Bring questions, enthusiasm, torches and good footwear. Martin and Monika have studied and worked with bats for over 30 years and will be happy to share their knowledge and passion. The evening will finish with a short bat walk along the Angas River – hopefully rounding up the night with a view of foraging bats.

This session is family friendly; any children will need to be supervised by an adult when we walk to the River. 

Please wear enclosed shoes and bring along a small torch and arrive at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.
