Connecting Nature: Monarto to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links Planting Days

Activity From The Monarto to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links Project

We recently hosted a fantastic landholder planting event in Rockleigh, where a group of dedicated volunteers helped plant seedlings at one of our large-scale revegetation sites. It was great to meet new landowners and work together on this important project!

Another successful planting day saw Second Nature Conservancy staff and the Department for Environment and Water – National Parks and Wildlife Service SA team up to plant nearly 400 conservation-significant plants, including Prostanthera eurybioides, Olearia pannosa, and Acacia menzelii.

What else have we achieved

  • Developed a spatial database for Eastern Hills and Murray Plains on-ground works

  • Identified key regional priorities

  • Engaged with new landholders and the wider community

But wait…there’s more! We’re excited to continue our on-ground work in the coming year, expanding and up-scaling our project with new sites and new landholders with Phase 2 of this project.

A huge thank you to the all the landholders who have participated and provided their support for the project, your enthusiasm and dedication make a huge difference!
