Successful Regenerative Ag Group Mentored Tour

The Eastern Mount Lofty Regenerative Ag Group recently visited group member, Brian Teakle's farm 'Glenholme' in Whytes Well.

The tour included some of the many projects Brian has underway that aim to improve the soil and support biodiversity on the farm. Biochar trials, summer active millet crop, native seed production area, western pygmy possum nesting boxes, Sandalwood and Quandong plantations, agroforestry and saltbush plantings and over 30 years of revegetation projects. Below, Brian helps us understand where the focus is now…

I’m into multi species; monoculture is finished. If we are going to survive, and we’re running out of moisture, we’ve got to be able to regenerate the soil completely. That’s what we’re aiming to do all the time.
— Brian Teakle

This Nature Project Activity is supported by The Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu Grassroots Grants Program and funded by The Landscape Levies.

This group gets together for regular farm walks to help support the ongoing learning and sharing in their efforts to use regenerative practices on farm. Get in touch if you’re interested in learning more or, joining in…
