In search of the rare Grass daisy – Finniss
We recently met at the Finniss River, which flows between Yundi (near Mount Compass and the Lower Murray), and the target was the rare Grass daisy (Brachyscome graminea), which Ben had previously located on private properties along the river.
Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu Wren spotted in our revegetation!
An endangered Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu Wren in what might be the southern-most sighting of the tiny bird. The initial sighting of a male wren was followed up just before Easter by the exciting discovery of a female wren – signalling the exciting possibly that the birds are a breeding pair.
Weed control in Finniss Conservation Park
Nearly six months ago the GWLAP received a $5000 grant from DEWNR on-park Support Grants to continue with restoration works in the Finniss conservation park.
A day on the bus with the Angas Bremer Water Management Committee
The Angas Bremer Water Management Committee made use of a small volunteer grant from the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board on 27 September to run a free bus trip to visit two of the securing low flows trial sites in the Angas Catchment.
Official Opening of the Point Sturt Landcare Reserve
On Sunday 23rd September, the Point Sturt and Districts Landcare Group officially opened the Point Sturt and District Landcare Reserve. Over 80 people enjoyed a guided walking tour of the reserve before the officialy opening.

Tree Skink
Last week Will was lucky to come across this little lizard, confirmed by the Herpetology Department of the SA Museum as a Tree Skink (Ergernia striolata). It is unusual to find this lizard in the Mt Barker area
nrmFARM – a great free tool for recording management activities on your property
nrmFARM is a tool made available by Natural Resources, SA Murray-Darling Basin via their website. It allows you to make a map of your property, include fencelines and features and also record information like chemical applications, sowing dates, yield data, livestock movements, soil test results, weed sightings and much more.
